Honouring Ato Shambel Basha Bekele

“Remember your leaders.” — Hebrews 13:7

Ato Shambel Basha Bekele is remembered as the father who brought the Tabot of Bihere Tsege Mekane Selam Kidist Maryam Church from Sudan and established it in the area.

In recognition of his invaluable contribution to the Holy Church, and considering that he is now staying at home due to old age, the parish council, administration office, and clergy association of Bihere Tsege Mekane Selam Kidist Maryam Church visited and honoured him on the occasion of the 2019 Ethiopian New Year celebration.

Representing the Church, they presented him with a sheep as a gift and conveyed their warm New Year wishes.
